This
tool allows you to inject the proper grease into the flexible
flap cable housings as called out in both the POH and Maintenance
Manuals. After disconnecting the flex-shaft from the motor, it
threads onto the end and has a standard zerk fitting for connecting
to a standard grease gun. The full procedure is outlined here... |

Why you need it...
|

|
The old method of disconnecting and suspending the cables vertically
so you could dribble in some motor oil was better than nothing but
it wouldn't linger and would just drain out the bottom at the
actuator. This tool allows you to inject the proper grease into the
cable housing. Having the proper grease will make flap operation smoother and quieter. If you run a maintenance facility this tool will allow you to offer flap cable servicing, something that has been for the most part overlooked to date on the entire fleet. |
